Nintendo Was Also Surprised to Find Out a Gamecube Controller Worked on a Nintendo Switch
October 28, 2017 - Super Smash Bros
The latest 4.0 firmware update for a Nintendo Switch hid some tip updates, including adding support for both USB wireless headsets and a GameCube controller. Or rather, a Wii U GameCube controller adapter. The dark underline was a warn and pleasure to Nintendo fans, though also a warn for Nintendo themselves.
In an talk with Kotaku, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime suggested that a firmware refurbish permitting a use of a GameCube controller wasn’t something a association saw coming.
“In a latest complement program update, it enables third-party peripherals to work on Nintendo Switch,” pronounced Fils-Aime. “As a result, a marginal for Wii U that allows it to insert GameCube controllers also works.”
However, Fils-Aime denied this was in credentials for a yet-unannounced Super Smash Bros. diversion for Nintendo Switch. “Of course, there’s zero to announce on this. we consider it’s satisfactory to say, Stephen [Totilo], that that marginal operative was as most a warn to us as it was to consumers.”
So while it’s misleading if a GameCube marginal support for a Nintendo Switch is a finish collision or not, Nintendo is chalking this one adult as a pleasing surprise.
